Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
The gang made it out to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. It was pricey, but let me tell you that it is worth it. How often do you get to pet giraffes?

Meet Saidi
Saidi (pronounced: Say-dee) is a 7 month old, liver and white, female Brittany. She is a very fast little puppy that likes soft chew toys, or Kai's puppy dog slippers. She loves playing with Smilez.
She is naturally curious about all the activities I am involved in and has already been accepted into the family by the children and Jennie. Approval by Smilez is pending but may be denied.

Tinker Air Force Base Salute to Stars and Stripes Airshow
Man, it is nice having a camera again. Kai, Kate and I went to the Airshow @ Tinker Air Force Base. It went great except 97 degree temps.
Kai found his favorite 'blue' airplane. I wonder what he is thinking?

We saw my favorite old bird, the Douglas DC-3.

Next year I'll remember cash for the Kidz Zone. :(
cheers,
Jon

Roman Nose Memorial Day Weekend
We had a great trip to Watonga. We got to go swimming, lots of bike rides, fishing, canoeing, BBQ, the whole works!

On our way into town on Saturday we got to watch some crop dusters fly by. And even watch a plane take off from the big ole Watonga Regional Airpark.

We dropped into town 5 minutes before some sort of parade just happened to start. It was great! The kids got to see shriners, old cars, get a stock of candy and Uncle Sam go penny farthing.

Kate's Babies Get a New Mode of Transporation
But before the babies use it, we have to "test" it.

You may notice Kate got a knock on her knoggin' that matches Daddy's. Little boys and girls shouldn't climb on train tables. She fell through the table and bonker her head on the edge of one of the table boards. It mirrors mine. What can I say? Daddy's little girl I suppose.

New camera on its way!
The last two cameras both ate a watery death. The first was in the sink, the second was in the clothes washer. Life happens. The cool thing about your stuff breaking is that you get NEW STUFF!!! This camera has all the tough advertisements going for it; can withstand 5ft drop, 16ft of water, or temperatures to 14 degrees Fahrenheit.
I was looking in the $150 range but the salesperson at Best Buy convinced the family on this one which is listed at double my range. Well, Best Buy then did their usual thing of not having the color I want in stock and it would even need to be back ordered. Yes, color is an issue if I am doubling up on what I originally wanted to purchase a camera for. So I bought it online from Amazon @ 78% of what Best Buy was selling it for (that was a bit of the engineer in me coming out). Good job Bets Buy salesperson! You convinced me to buy much more of a camera from someone else! Get your database accurate! If you can't sell a product, don't have it shiny and pretty on the shelf. We have the technology for inventories, use it!
Pictures are soon to follow.
Cheers,
Jon

Plans, Camera, Colorado, and camping
The camera got washed in our clothes washer. Cameras just don't last long around here. The last one was dropped into a sink of full water (by Kai) and found at a later time. But Kai thought he was doing the right thing by putting it "in the kitchen". Come on, he must have only been two at the time. This last watery death of a camera came from either it accidentally being left in my shorts pocket or someone else's clothes. No blame any where. We just will not have fun photos to post for a while.
The plans for this summer are developing. We want to go somewhere in the middle of May and were thinking about Table Rock Lake, MO. At the end of June there is a possibility of going to Manitou Springs, CO. And I also found trails at Sulphur that I can sneak away and ride my bike on while everyone is sleeping in.
I finish school (hopefully) May 3rd. I plan on camping like crazy. I think every other weekend we are going to Watonga, Sulphur, or somewhere I can take the kds and have fun.
Cheers,
