Trip to Arkansas - Part 3

While in Little Rock, Chuckles took us to the 'Old Mill'. I can not remember the lineage. Ask Chuckles the relationship with our family and the 'Old Mill'. He'll love to tell you. :)

The 'Old Mill' is not a true old mill. It is a piece of artwork completed in the 1930's made completely out of cement. The 'wood' is cement shaped and scratched to look like wood.

Chicken Invasion!

The chickens moved outside several weeks back. They are huge! They love their backyard. Other than one chicken going missing the first day we moved them outside, Rocky (our 90 lb mutt) and the chickens have gotten along. I'll post some up close pics when I remember to take them. It looks like we might have 2 roosters and three hens. So, we'll have two fried chickens when they get big enough!

Trip to Arkansas - Part 2 - the wedding

Chenin's wedding was beautiful. Of course, here come the standard dump of pictures of kids, family and friends.

Serendipity Salon

The salon is open!!!!

Jennie has gone full time in the salon. Serendipity Salon has 6 booths for hairstylists, 3 hair washing stations, 3 hair dryers and more style than half of Hollywood.

Trip to Arkansas - Part 1

Jennie and I have awesome kids! They are the best co-pilots ever! Check out my navigator on the right. Deep in thought about the next turn which is just a short 100 miles away. My fun coordinator on the left is organizing events for when we arrive. Both amazingly committed, tirelessly working.

My gourgeous chief-co-pilot-navigator-drink-person and pilot.

The Fun Coordinator Office thought she could drive.

Space Travel

Kai and Jennie built a rocket ship in our house. The creation came from lots of work using various materials, mostly cardboard and magic marker. Despite the materials, Jennie and Kai were able to establish landings on multiple planets. And their re-entry to earth went quite well. Despite the rocket getting laid over on its side multiple times it was rugged enough to withstand as much planetary travel that could be thrown at it. Kate wasn't too affected during the travel, she spent most of her time in a hyper sleep capsule (her crib). I spent most of the time in my space suit outside the ship snapping photos. Although I did get to help do a couple of launches.

MS 150 trip

The trip down to Texas for the MS-150 was awesome! I had a great time and it was a very fun and memorable trip!

My buddy Marcin and I drove down Friday night and stayed at the Hampton Inn about 12 miles from the start line. (I booked the wrong Hampton :P) Had some pizza Friday night with my coworker Peter and crashed. Saturday was filled with pedalling. The sun never came out. It was overcast all day. Which was just fine for me!

Lunch stop. Look at all the bikes! It filled a parking lot!

I made it the whole 86 miles the first day without a hitch. No dehydration, no flat tires, no broken chain, no lack of food, fun or support.

I finished pedalling after nearly 5 hours in the saddle. Not the fastest pace but I thought I had another day to go. I'd never gone past 32 miles. And I had no idea what kind of pace I could do for 86 miles.

*me on the Lake Lewisville dam

Two minutes after Peter and I crossed the finish line it started to hail. We ran to my truck and squeezed two sweaty guys and one Polack in.

Sunday got rained out. We heard about it late Saturday that they had canceled the second day. So we decided to have dinner, a drink and crash at the hotel rather than drive home. The rain must have been pretty bad because it made the satelite system in the bar go bad.

Marcin and I drove back Sunday after visiting Ikea. Overall a good, laid back trip. I can't wait to do another event. Hopefully the kids can go next time. The kids and Jennie didn't make the trip due to the Swine Flu scare.

Cheers,

Eating

There are several adventures you take when you have kids. One of them is merely feeding yourself and the children. Often times it is messy. Most times it pretty dang cute.
